One Hot Mess, Vol. 10: T-straps

You guys didn't think I could go on a overnight backpacking trip with my five children without having one of these, right?

It's clearly something the 7 year old did, right? Oh, no? The 6 year old, then. No? Ok, ok, Johnny!! It MUST be Johnny. What did he do?? NO? Really? Clemmy, then?
Peter?...

YOU ARE SO KIND.

(It was me.)
(As usual.)

I forgot to bring my shoes.

(weeping emoji)

I hiked in $14 Target pleather T-straps. I really did.

************ pause for laughter**********take your time****************

It's been a few weeks (I've missed you!!) so I hope you've got some good ones stored up for us. Post yours with the link-up button when you're done telling all your friends about this stupid girl you know from the internet. (Me)

  1. I'm impressed you managed the whole hike! I do the same sorts of things all the time. I'm so preoccupied with the kids that I forget a super obvious item for myself or husband. This past camping trip- forgot pants for myself. I had to wear the same pair for 3 days. Come to think of it, that's almost normal for me, anyway.

  2. This is absolutely something that I would do. I hope you didn't get blisters or anything because if this were me, they would of course be brand new and not broken in yet and would lead to a plethora of blisters. Lovely town!

  3. Oh my gosh! I did laugh, just a bit, and then I felt really sorry for your feet. :(

  4. Bahahaha! Laughing with you because this is definitely a stunt I would have pulled. I am forever in flip flops, and never in real shoes!

    1. Ha! I think it would have been equally hard... Just FAR less annoying (rocks under foot, etc) but it wasn't so bad, surprisingly.

  6. Oh Blythe!! Oh I am just hurting for you. I really could have done this myself. For a very, very long time (ie. forever) the image I have of you hiking up that mountain with a baby on your back will be ingrained in my head an I will frantically ask myself "Do I have everything??" when I leave the house on gear-important trips.

    1. Oh man, yes: I actually recognized this little
Problem during one of those same mental conversations.

  7. That's impressive. The whole hike in those babies?

I did something similar recently. My husband took me for a "walk" about a month ago. His idea of a stroll with the kiddos is 5 miles at unnatural fast pace! Lol. I had a blister on the bottom of my foot by the time we were done because I wore my flip flops.

Did you stump your toes at all? I would have been trying to piggy back my way back down that hill. Haha!
