three mary's

we have been trading illnesses around like there's no tomorrow all winter long. poor mary has just resigned to looking like this all the time, unless i have recently wiped her whole face off. anyone else face these sort of never ending snot difficulties?

a few days ago she was a little less boogery and her ears were illuminated by the afternoon sun so i had to break out my camera. i love this picture of her because she looks so elfy and inquisitive. i think both of those words describe her perfectly. along with squishy, wonderful, cuddly and bald.

yesterday mary and hero spent most of the afternoon outside playing with each other. well, hero played and mary most bounced around in this jumper thing that i found in what i thought was a free for all drop station at our complex only to find out it was a donation center for MEND during the holidays. of course i found this out after i had brought it home and cleaned it up and had spent a whole day or so basking in the glow of my amazing free find. needless to say i didn't return it back to the donation center as i should have. anyway, so hero was playing and mary was jumping and screeching with delight at her big sister. i was checking on them periodically... and this one time i found that hero had been digging up little dirt clots and putting them into mary's tray. mary had, of course, been eating these dirt clots for i don't know how long. mouth full of sand and grit, still happy as a clam. this is totally second child parenting... get the camera and take pictures before removing the dirt. it was totally worth it.

  7. i am also facing the never ending snot fest with Penny... and she HATES having her nose wiped... which makes it fun... so i have resorted to just letting her have a snotty nose for the most part (except for when we are out in the public eye)...no harm no foul, right??
